Freshwater / Yarmouth

If your looking for views then 'West is Best' the areas surrounding Freshwater and Yarmouth have some stunning views. 

Route 1 - Yarmouth

This nice steady route is mainly on road with a short hop along the former railway which once ran alongside the River Yar Estuary.  Access to Colwell Bay, Totland Bay and Freshwater Bay are available en route and if you fancy venturing a little off course you can also visit The Needles.

Distance: 15KM / 9 Miles

This route can be combined with Route 2

Route 2 - Yarmouth

This route is a much tougher day than it's Route 1 counterpart but also much more rewarding if you love great views (So don't forget your camera).

Distance: 19KM / 12 Miles

Tennyson Trail

Taking you from Freshwater Bay this route leads you up onto the downs where you will be greeted by some fabulous views across the Island

Distance: 15KM / 10 Miles

This route can be combined with the Route 1

Route 14 - Western Loop

This route will take you around the western side of the Island showing you some of the most scenic area's on the Isle of Wight.  It is circular so can be completed either way.  Please note the elevation as this may decide your ride.  This route will not be marked as it is a combination of many other routes.  This Route has been mapped using www.mapmyride.com
